The use of hypnotic suggestion to improve working memory in patients with acquired brain injury.
Working memory impairment is common after acquired brain injury and affects rehabilitation outcome, community participation and employment after the injury. Current rehabilitation of working memory impairment has shown low transfer value, so there is a great need for effective methods. Hypnosis is a safe and effective treatment for several clinical conditions, but almost unexplored in cognitive rehabilitation. The aim of the study is to use hypnosis to improve working memory in brain injury patients, and most importantly, explore the transfer value to everyday life.
