KSUMU - Body awareness, pain, fatigue and mindfulness in young people with and without CFS/ME

Mindfulness is increasingly offered as part of public treatment and coping services for chronically ill people. We want to contribute to more knowledge about its effects on specific patient groups. An important question is whether living with long-term fatigue and pain affects the relationship with the body and thus the effect of mental exercises such as mindfulness?

The project has an experimental design and will measure autonomic reactions in the form of heart rate variability in participants during mental exercises with and without focus on the body. Participants will also complete questionnaires related to body awareness and body focus, pain, fatigue and mindfulness.
